Sara E. Eggler is the democratic candidate for Pennsylvania State Representative in District 76, grounded in deep local roots and a lifelong commitment to public service.

She is the daughter of Franklin A. and Sheila A. Eggler, both born and raised in Clinton County. Sara was raised and educated in Clinton County and continues to call the 76th District her home.
Sara graduated with high honors from Central Mountain High School in 2002 and simultaneously completed the Keystone Central Vocational School program in Graphic Arts.
Her time at Keystone Central School District (KCSD) was trailblazing. During her senior year, she became a member of VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America) and advanced to the state level competition, where she earned first place, for the very first time in KCSD history. That historic win placed KCSD vocational students on the statewide map and helped open future opportunities for grants and scholarships for KCSD students who followed.
In 2006, Sara earned her bachelor’s degree from Lycoming College, a private Methodist campus in Williamsport, PA, with focuses in Art & Religion. She entered the workforce during the early 2000s recession, an experience that shaped her understanding of economic instability and the importance of creating good paying, local jobs. That perspective continues to drive her belief that strong communities depend on reliable employment opportunities and an economy that works for working families.
Sara proudly identifies as non-partisan. She has previously been registered as a Republican while working for Eclipse Resources, a State College based energy company involved in Marcellus Shale development in Ohio. She has spoken openly about the importance of recognizing the moment in history, when Pennsylvania needed leaders willing to responsibly develop natural resources and support energy independence. Sara believes effective government requires participation from all parties and practical solutions rather than rigid ideology and extreme hyper-partisanship.
She was also registered as an Independent for several years, reflecting a time when she felt unrepresented by any single party. That experience reinforces her belief that elected officials must answer to people, not party labels.
Over the past seven to eight years, Sara has served her community as a real estate agent with FISH Real Estate, helping local buyers and sellers work toward the American dream of homeownership. Through this work, she has seen how legislative inaction on economic opportunity directly undermines local housing markets.
As Sara says, “Over the past year, I’ve sat at far too many kitchen tables with buyers who are doing everything right, receiving solid pre approval letters from local lenders, only to tell them they need to keep saving because there’s nothing in their price range. Meanwhile, they’re forced to dip into those same savings, just to get by day to day.”
Sara has been actively engaged in philanthropy and supporting local nonprofit organizations for more than a decade. She believes giving back is a core civic responsibility and that strong communities are built when neighbors step up for one another.
As Sara often says, “Giving back is part of our civic duty. We should always look for ways to support our communities and the people who call them home.”

Sara was instrumental in the planning and development of Porter Township’s Recreational Park Pollinator Garden, working alongside the Porter Township Recreation Board and Penn State Master Gardeners to create a self-sustaining garden within the park. She has emphasized the importance of these projects, noting that pollinator gardens protect local bee and pollinating species while also supporting farmers by strengthening food systems that provide healthy produce for our communities.
In addition, Sara is a Pennsylvania Adopt a Highway sponsor, contributing to efforts to keep Pennsylvania clean and beautiful. She regularly volunteers with local nonprofit organizations and community events, including the Clinton County Pop Up Pantry, helping ensure food reaches individuals and families facing hardship. Recently, she helped organize a local fundraiser for Girlz in the Hoodie, a Williamsport based nonprofit that supports mastectomy patients. In the past, she has assisted Clinton County, Porter Township Recreation Board in their efforts of developing and installing a self-sustaining pollinator garden at the Porter Township Park in Lamar, PA and was instrumental in the development and implementation of the 1st Annual Porter Township Harvest Festival, which was launched in October, 2022 and was created, in effort, to celebrate & support our local farmers, as well as our local small business vendors, while providing an annual occasion for a community gathering.

Sara enjoys spending her free time with her fiancé, Tim McGarry Jr., along with a close circle of friends and family. When the weather turns warm, she gravitates outdoors, tending a garden, hiking wooded trails, foraging, and boating on Pennsylvania waters. An avid angler, Sara regularly fishes local waterways and has supported the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission through license purchases and donations since she was sixteen. She has also enjoyed hunting small game birds in past years, alongside her fiancé and late black lab, Dusty, an experience that reflects her respect for wildlife and conservation traditions.
She also enjoys drag racing and proudly supports her fiancé as he rebuilds a 1966 Ford Mustang to compete in the Pro 636 class, where horsepower meets patience and hard work pays off one bolt at a time.
Sara’s deep appreciation for Pennsylvania’s natural resources fuels her commitment to protecting them for future generations while expanding responsible public access. She believes in preserving these lands and waters where they belong and investing in them through thoughtful stewardship and the pursuit of grant funding that benefits local communities.
Sara Eggler is running to bring practical leadership, grants and funding, and a commitment to fairness back to Harrisburg, by serving every resident within District 76, with integrity and hard work.
